Set of four early Victorian mahogany dining chairs c1840.
The shaped deep top rail has flame mahogany veneer of excellent quality & patination, above a carved vertical splat featuring scrolls.
Stylish, & of solid & firm construction, they are eminently serviceable & extremelycomfortable. In untouched condition. Seats require recovering, and slight repair.

Bottles with stoppers have some interesting chemist`s labels: Henry Troughton, Market Street, Lancaster. Laudanum label, Boots cash chemists (Lancashire) Ltd, 81 East Street, Fleetwood. Also `Vapex` inhalant label, made by Tomas Kerfoot & Co. Ltd, Bardsley Vale, Lancs. Dimensions of box:
6 7/8" by 5 7/8", and 5 1/2" high.
